Milan, a smart and sharing city
A former railway yard in the northern part of the Porta Romana/Vettabbia district of Milan is currently under complete redevelopment. The site will feature a mix of private and social housing units, a new transport station that will integrate several means of transport, and a large park. As part of the Sharing Cities EU-funded project, the Municipality of Milan is demonstrating through this project how to engage citizens in co-developing innovative services. Other measures include building retrofitting, shared e-mobility (e-cars, e-bikes, e-logistic vehicles, charging points, smart parking), sustainable energy management and an urban sharing platform.
